KF-CW200 Cementitious Crystalline Waterproofing
KeXin New Material KF-CW200 cementitious capillary crystalline waterproofing material (CCCW) uses Portland cement and fine quartz sand as the carrier and active chemicals as the core component. After mixing with water and applying by brushing or dry sprinkling on the concrete surface, the active chemicals penetrate into the concrete capillaries with water as the carrier, reacting with cement hydration products (Ca(OH)₂) and unhydrated cement particles to form insoluble needle-like crystals that fill pores and microcracks. It achieves permanent waterproofing and impermeability from within the concrete structure, and possesses a unique self-healing capability for microcracks.
ProductsOverview
Cement-based capillary crystalline waterproofing is a high-performance professional coating product developed and produced by KeXin New Material. Formulated scientifically with premium resins and imported pigments and fillers, it offers excellent adhesion, durability, and application performance. Widely used in industrial manufacturing, architectural decoration, automotive and transportation, and other fields.
As a source coating factory, KeXin New Material strictly implements the ISO9001 quality management system for cement-based capillary crystalline waterproofing, from formula design and raw material procurement to production and filling. The product is certified under ROHS, REACH, and other environmental regulations. Free sample testing and on-site guidance from technical engineers are provided.
Why choose cementitious capillary crystalline waterproofing?
CoreAdvantages
Penetrative crystallisation · how concrete waterproofs itself
Active chemicals penetrate into concrete capillaries and microcracks with water (up to 30-50mm deep). They react with Ca(OH)₂ and unhydrated cement to form insoluble needle-like ettringite and calcium silicate hydrate crystals. The crystals fill and block the capillary channels, fundamentally cutting off water penetration paths. Unlike surface film-forming waterproof coatings, CCCW makes the concrete structure itself a waterproof barrier.
Unique micro-crack self-healing capability
When temperature stress or slight settlement later produces micro-cracks up to 0.4 mm in the concrete, infiltrating water re-activates the unreacted chemicals on both faces of the crack and a fresh crystalline reaction takes place. The new crystals automatically fill and seal the micro-cracks - an intelligent self-healing effect. This unique capability is a technical advantage that conventional waterproofing materials cannot reach.
Back-face application · ideal for underground works
CCCW can be applied to the back face (internal side) of basement retaining walls, solving the problem where waterproofing cannot be built from the water-facing side because excavation is impossible. The active agents penetrate into the concrete against the flow of infiltrating water and crystallise there, blocking groundwater ingress from the inside. More than 20 years of successful use in basements, underground car parks and metro stations.
Permanent waterproofing · service life matching the structure
The crystallisation products are part of the concrete itself, not a coating bonded to its surface. They are not degraded by ultraviolet light, oxygen or temperature swings, and are not damaged by later finishing works. The waterproofing function lasts as long as the structure (50-100 years) with no maintenance or renewal. It is the first choice of waterproofing system for major infrastructure projects.
Inorganic and eco-friendly · green building material
Based on natural inorganic materials such as cement and quartz sand, with no organic solvents and no VOC. Non-toxic and odourless, it meets hygiene and safety standards for materials in contact with drinking water. It can be used for waterproofing works with strict water-quality requirements, such as potable water tanks and aquaculture ponds. It is a green, environmentally sustainable building material.
Validated in major infrastructure projects
Successfully used in dozens of national major infrastructure projects - the gallery system of the Three Gorges Dam, tunnels of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, pile caps of the Hangzhou Bay cross-sea bridge, Guangzhou metro stations and the basement of Shanghai Tower. Cumulative waterproofed area exceeds 20 million square metres. It has passed the toughest test of engineering practice and time.

Frequently AskedFAQ
ApplicationProcess
Substrate preparation
Roughen the concrete surface or wash it with high-pressure water to remove laitance, oil and release agent. Repair cracks, honeycombing and pitting in advance with cement mortar. Before application, wet the concrete thoroughly to a saturated-surface-dry condition with no standing water. A substrate temperature of 5-35°C is recommended.
Mixing
Weigh powder and water at a 1 : 0.3-0.4 ratio by weight. Pour the water into the mixing bucket first and add the powder slowly while stirring. Mix with a power mixer for 3-5 min until a uniform, lump-free slurry is obtained. The slurry remains workable for about 30 min at 25°C and must be used within that time.
Coat application
Brush the slurry evenly onto the damp concrete with a stiff-bristle or nylon brush. Apply two coats in a cross pattern at 0.6-0.75 kg/m² per coat. Apply the second coat once the first is touch dry (2-4 h). Reinforce corners, pipe penetrations and construction joints with extra material.
Wet curing
Begin wet curing as soon as the coating is touch dry. Mist the surface 3-4 times a day to keep it continuously damp, or cover with wet hessian. Wet curing must last at least 72 h at 20°C. During curing, protect the surface from rain and standing water. Curing is the key step that lets the crystallisation reaction go to completion and must not be omitted.
Quality acceptance
After curing, inspect visually: no misses, no peeling, no dusting. Water-spray test: spray continuously for 24 h and check the back face for leakage or damp patches. Where required, take cores to verify penetration depth. Once accepted, apply the protective layer or backfill without delay. Issue the waterproofing acceptance report and a 10-year quality warranty.
