KF-RM300 Reflective & Photoluminescent Paint
Kexin KF-RM300 Reflective/Luminous Marking Paint includes two product series: Reflective Paint uses high-refractive-index (n≥1.93) glass microbeads embedded in the coating surface, producing efficient retroreflection under vehicle headlights with nighttime reflective brightness >300mcd/lx/m². Luminous Paint uses rare-earth strontium aluminate (SrAl₂O₄:Eu,Dy) long-afterglow luminescent material, absorbing visible light for 10-20 minutes and continuously glowing for over 8 hours in darkness. Widely used for traffic markings, fire escape route signs, building safety exit guidance, highway guardrail delineators, underground space evacuation guidance, and other safety signage requiring 24/7 visibility.

Why choose reflective and photoluminescent marking paint?
CoreAdvantages
Retroreflection · Headlight-Activated High Brightness
High-refractive-index (n≥1.93) solid glass microbeads are embedded in the reflective paint surface. When vehicle headlight beams strike, the glass microbeads focus and reflect the light back toward the light source (retroreflection principle), producing a bright reflective effect visible from the driver's perspective. The reflective brightness >300mcd/lx/m² exceeds the GB/T 16311 road traffic marking retroreflective line standard. Without headlights, the coating appears as a conventional gray and does not affect daytime visibility.
Rare Earth Long Afterglow · 8-Hour Continuous Glow
Rare earth-activated strontium aluminate (SrAl₂O₄:Eu²⁺,Dy³⁺) is used as the luminescent matrix. Under ultraviolet-visible light (200-500nm) irradiation, Eu²⁺ ions are excited to an excited state, and electrons are captured and stored by the trap energy levels of Dy³⁺ ions. After the light source is removed, electrons are slowly released back to the ground state, emitting yellow-green fluorescence (520nm peak). The afterglow time >8 hours far exceeds traditional ZnS:Cu luminescent materials (<2 hours)。
Easy Excitation · Reusable
The glow-in-the-dark paint can complete energy storage and excitation after 10-20 minutes of exposure to sunlight or artificial light. The glow-excitation cycle can be repeated infinitely without degradation. It consumes no electricity and requires no maintenance. It provides zero-energy passive safety assurance in locations requiring all-weather emergency guidance, such as building fire escape routes, safety exits, underground parking garages, and tunnel escape passages.
All-Weather Durability · 10-Year Outdoor Use
The reflective paint uses weather-resistant acrylic or polyurethane as the topcoat binder, with glass microbead embedding depth precisely controlled at 40-60% of bead diameter (optimal retroreflective effect). The glow-in-the-dark paint uses a transparent weather-resistant topcoat to protect the luminescent layer from rain and UV degradation. Coating weather resistance >10 years outdoor use, luminescence brightness decay<30%(10年)。Water-Resistant洗scrub resistance耐常规Cleaning agents。
Easy Application · Suitable for Multiple Substrates
The reflective paint can be applied by brushing, roller coating, or spraying. The glow-in-the-dark paint is applied in a sandwich structure of primer (white primer to enhance reflectivity) + luminescent layer + transparent protective topcoat. It is suitable for various substrates such as concrete, asphalt, metal, plastic, and wood. Reflective glow-in-the-dark signage can be prefabricated in the factory, or large-area reflective glow-in-the-dark marking lines can be applied on site.
Fire safety and traffic engineering applications
Reflective glow-in-the-dark guidance signage systems for building fire escape routes and evacuation stairways. Reflective markings and delineator posts for underground garages and tunnels. Reflective markings for highways and urban roads. Fire facility signage for gas stations and chemical plants. Escape route indication for ships and offshore platforms. Supplementary emergency lighting signage for mines and tunnels. Personnel evacuation guidance systems for large event venues.

Frequently AskedQuestions
ApplicationProcess
Surface preparation
Steel structure blast cleaning to Sa2.5 grade (ISO 8501-1), roughness Rz 40-75μm. Concrete surface ground smooth and defects repaired. Remove all oil, rust, scale and loose old coatings. Ambient temperature 5-40°C, relative humidity<85%,钢板temperature高于露点3°C以上。
Primer application
Select matching primer according to coating type. Fireproof coatings require special fireproof primer to enhance adhesion. Anti-static systems require embedded grounding copper foil grid. Insulating varnish requires dipping or vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) process. After primer dries for 4-8h, proceed with main coat application.
Main-coat application
Apply in layers according to design thickness. Fireproof coating each coat controlled at 3-5mm thick, total thickness according to fire resistance rating requirements (1-3h corresponds to different thicknesses). Anti-static coating ensure continuous conductive coating without breaks. Insulating varnish strictly control dipping time and curing temperature for each coat. Chemical-resistant coating each coat interval strictly according to product requirements.
topcoat / sealer
Functional topcoat applied evenly as final coat. Fireproof coating topcoat provides decorative and weather-resistant protection. Anti-static topcoat grounding terminals installed and connected simultaneously. Insulating varnish final coat is protective topcoat. Ensure uniform appearance without misses or pinholes.
Maintenance inspection
Cure and maintain according to product requirements. Fireproof coating inspect coating thickness (ultrasonic thickness gauge) and bond strength (pull-off method). Anti-static coating inspect surface resistance and system grounding resistance (IEC 61340). Insulating varnish inspect dielectric strength and insulation resistance. After all inspections pass, issue inspection acceptance report.
