Les Menuires Les Trois Vallee Resort Guide Three Valleys

Reberty, Les Menuires – Family ski holiday Guide

Reberty is one of the best locations for a family ski holiday in Les Trois Vallee. Located at 2000m above the rest of Les Menuires it is a pretty collection of Chalets and Apartments with direct access to the slopes and ski schools meeting points.

We went there in March 2019 and this guide gives an in-depth review of what Reberty has to offer.

Views from Reberty, Les Menuires

Why you should go to Reberty

  • Most accommodation is ski in/ ski out
  • There are two great ski schools
  • It has all the amenities you need
  • Easy access to the Les Menuires Ski area and Les Trois Vallee

Compromises

  • It’s a short bus ride or ski from the main centre, Croisette

The Resort

Reberty is just above Bruyeres with amazing views across the Belleville Valley, you can admire the slopes down Le Masse whilst finishing your morning coffee. Located between the main into Croisette and Bruyeres it is linked to the rest of Les Menuires by a free shuttle bus, a short ski or a 5 mins drive.

There is a wide selection of Chalets, Apartments and Hotels to choose from. Everything you need for your holiday:

We mainly headed into Croissette on skis, to get souvenirs and gaze fondly at new ski kit. Plus amazing burgers at Croc’Vallée.

If you are looking for more information on Les Menuires and the other resort areas, read the psste Les Menuires Resort Guide.

The skiing

As you can see on the Les Menuires Piste Map, Reberty is well located for a family ski holiday. From most accommodation you can ski straight out onto the blues on either side. These leads you straight to a variety of lifts that will take you up the mountain to explore Les Menuires. Or if you get on the Bruyeres lift you can get straight into both Meribel and Val Thorens.

Our normal route preferences were:

  • To ski down to the Sunny lift. This bypasses the queue for the Bruyeres lift and you can then catch the Roche des 3 Marches to get higher.
  • Or ski down to the bottom of Masse and either up Masse or up over Croissette.

Les Menuires Skipasses prices

As with other Les Menuires offers savings by purchasing skipasses as a Duo or Triple you save 10 or 15 Euros per pass, respectively, or family group everyone gets a ticket for the child’s price.

The main consideration is whether you purchase a Les Menuires skipass or a full Trois Vallee ski pass, personally because the accessibility into Meribel is so good I would purchase the 3 Vallee pass.

Prices (2019/20 Season)

Les Menuires Ski Pass Prices

  • Adult 255€
  • Child 204€
  • Family 816€

3 Vallee Ski Pass Prices

  • Adult 312€
  • Child 249.60€
  • Family 998.40€

Ski Schools

Though Reberty is not the main centre in Les Menuires you have a great choice of ski schools, with both ESF and Oxygene located there.

The meeting point for both ski schools is conveniently outside the neighbouring La Ferme and Igloo restaurants. Meaning a post lesson Beer or Chocolate Chaud and Frites can be ordered to refuel.

Personally I don’t think there is much to separate the two ski schools. Oxygene limits it lesson sizes and ESF is better value for money. See which ski school’s lessons and timings suit you better.

Skiing with kids

The layout of Les Menuires really suits kids, due to the variety of runs.

We’ve found the best and most joyful thing is let your kids lead. Let them show you where they’ve skied. Also ask their instructor for advice, not surprisingly they know the resort better than you.

We spent a lot of timing on the following slopes and parks:

  • The Wallabi Funpark, ski cross style run for kids/ beginners
  • The Pixel Area, bumps and jumps to suit all ages

Skiing without the kids

When you’re kids are in lessons or if you’ve got an hour or so, this is where Les Menuires shines. There are so many options:

  • Ski Les Menuires, Becca, Sunny
  • Concentrate on skiing La Masse
  • Head towards St Martin de Belleville
  • Ski over into Val Thorens
  • Ski into Meribel

The only areas you can’t really make it to are Orelle and Courcheval, unless your kids are in lessons all day or you’ve managed to fluke a day for yourself.

The location of Reberty also means from most lifts you can ski straight down to pick up. The only time we got caught out was when the St Martin lift broke down and we were stuck on it for an hour. Thankfully the ski school watched the kids for 20 mins while we sped our way over.

Reberty Family Accommodation

We were looking for self catering accommodation. Although if you prefer staying in a Chalet for your family ski holiday the following companies also have bases in Reberty:

There are a lot of options for self-catering accommodation, but some are further from the piste or the amenities. The following accommodation provide a good balance of these and great apartment options for families:

Chalets du Soleil

The accommodation is well placed at the top of Reberty, practically backing onto the Roc de Trois Marche lift. It is well located for skiing and you can easily ski down into either Croisette or Bruyeres. The apartments come in two different styles:

  • Trendy – as the name suggests are in a modern style
  • Authentic – in a more traditional Savoyard style

To be honest there’s not a much difference between the two styles and all apartments are modern and beautifully kitted out with full kitchens. The main draw with Chalets du Soleil for me is the range of apartment sizes. With apartments that can accommodate between 4 to 15 people, they make a great alternative to a Chalet for larger family groups.

The price ranges are as follows:

Christmas (21-28 December 2019)

  • 2 bedroom apartment (4 people) € 2009
  • 4 bedroom apartment (8 people) € 2774

February Half Term (15-22 February 2020)

  • 2 bedroom apartment € 2625
  • 4 bedroom apartment € 3584

March (14-21 March 2020)

  • 2 bedroom apartment € 1400
  • 4 bedroom apartment € 1904

Easter (4-11 April 2020)

  • 2 bedroom apartment € 1400
  • 4 bedroom apartment € 1904

L’Alpages d’Reberty

We had a great experience staying in a Pierre et Vacances property in Belle Plagne in 2018. The accommodation is centrally located in Reberty, behind La Ferme de Reberty and next to Skiset and Sherpa

The apartments are located in four blocks with a central reception and indoor swimming pool. With ski lockers located at basement level with a door that comes out level with the piste. It’s then a short walk around the side of La Ferme to the slopes.

The apartments range in size you can pay extra for a Superior apartment. This gives you a slightly newer better located apartment with views over the valley. It also means the beds were made arrival.

The price ranges are as follows:

Christmas (21-28 December 2019)

  • 2 bedroom standard £2078
  • 2 bedroom superior apartment £2503

February Half Term (15-22 February 2020)

  • 2 bedroom standard £3055
  • 2 bedroom superior apartment £3631

March (14-21 March 2020)

  • 2 bedroom standard £1323
  • 2 bedroom superior apartment £1793

Easter (4-11 April 2020)

  • 2 bedroom standard £1653
  • 2 bedroom superior apartment £1767

When we went we chose to stay at L’Alpages de Reberty due to it’s more central location. Plus the added ease of getting to the slopes and the ski school meeting point etc. However for larger groups and a party of stronger skiers Chalets du Soleil may suit you better.

If neither of these options quite meet your needs use the map below.

Getting there

We flew into Grenoble and then chose to a hire car from EuroCar, booked through Holiday Autos.

We hire a car for the ease of getting there and the ability to shop in the hypermarkets on route. However if you prefer to have a transfer the following companies offer some great deals to get to Les Menuires:

Parking in Reberty

Like other resorts there are underground car parks in Reberty and you can book spaces through L’Alpages d’Reberty.

However unlike some other resorts there is an abundance of free on-street parking. We arrived mid afternoon and easily got a space near the apartments, which saved us 70€!

Should you go to Reberty for your next family ski holiday?

If you are planning to go to Les Trois Vallee, Reberty is the best location value wise for a family trip. The great accessibility to the slopes will make your best holiday yet.
