KF-AB200 is the most widely applicable general-purpose coating system for ABS substrates. It offers excellent adhesion for both two-component and single-component acrylic and polyurethane systems, achieving a 5B rating in the cross-cut test. It covers a full range of finishes, including high gloss, metallic, and matte effects. Optimal adhesion on ABS substrate
ABS contains an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer structure with moderate surface energy (35-40 mN/m). Acrylic and polyurethane coatings can achieve 5B-level adhesion directly without the need for a primer. The micro-swelling effect of the coating solvent on the ABS surface further enhances physical anchoring.
Full effect coverage: gloss, metallic, matte

Toy-grade safety and eco certification
Tested in accordance with EN 71-3 "Safety of Toys – Migration of Certain Elements" and GB 24613 "Limit of Harmful Substances in Coatings for Toys." The coating is free of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, chromium, and mercury, and does not contain phthalates. A low-VOC water-based system is available. Substrate cleaning
Thoroughly remove mold release agents and oil stains from plastic substrates using isopropyl alcohol or a specialized cleaner. For PP and PE substrates, flame treatment or plasma pretreatment can be optionally used to enhance surface energy. For ABS and PC substrates, wipe off dust with an antistatic cloth. Ensure the surface is clean and free of residues.
Primer application
Spray one coat of adhesion primer specifically for plastics. Use CPP chlorinated polypropylene primer for PP substrates. Use PA-specific primer for nylon. For ABS and PC, which have good adhesion, primer can be used optionally. Bake the primer at 60°C for 10 minutes, with a pre-bake film thickness of 10-15 μm.
Topcoat application
Apply 2 precise coats of topcoat, with a 60°C flash-off for 5-10 minutes between each coat. For the elastic tactile paint, appropriately thicken the final coat to achieve a full rubber-like feel. Total dry film thickness: 30-50μm. After spraying UV paint, pass through a UV curing machine. Ensure uniform color consistency with no runs or sags.
Curing process
Bake at 60-80°C for 20-30 minutes or air-dry at room temperature for 24 hours for complete curing. UV coatings are instantly cured by exposure to a UV curing machine at 800-1200 mJ/cm². Oven temperature uniformity is ±5°C, with gradual heating to avoid coating defects. For plastic substrates, the baking temperature must be controlled to not exceed the substrate's heat deflection temperature.
Inspection & packaging
After complete curing, use a cross-cut tester to check the adhesion level. Test for gloss/color difference/sweat resistance/cosmetics resistance. Plastic parts require special inspection for solvent attack. QUV yellowing resistance test 500h ΔE.<3。Dust-free soft Packaging shipped with batch test reports。
