4 First-aid measures

Inhalation

Move to fresh air.

Skin contact

Wash immediately with soap and water. Acrylate monomers may cause skin sensitization.

Eye contact

Rinse for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Seek medical advice.

Most important symptoms and effects:Skin irritation / sensitization (delayed contact dermatitis).

Conditions requiring immediate medical attention:Symptomatic treatment. Those sensitised should avoid further exposure.

5 Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing mediaDry powder / CO2 / foam. UV coatings are usually solvent-free or low-solvent and are not readily flammable.

7 Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Handle away from UV/daylight. Take measures against UV radiation: shield the work area from UV light. Avoid skin contact with uncured coating (acrylate sensitization). No eating or drinking in the workplace.

Storage Conditions

Store protected from light (to prevent unintended polymerization). <30°C. Shelf life 6-12 months. Periodically check for any rise in viscosity (a sign of polymerization).

8 Exposure controls / personal protection

substancePC-TWAPC-STELStandard

Engineering controls

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Respiratory systemUsually not required (solvent-free) — wear P2 when spraying UV coatings
Hand protectionNitrile gloves (multilayer + frequent change, as monomers can permeate the glove).
Eye protectionUV protection face shield + safety goggles
Skin and bodyLong-sleeved protective suit. Cover all skin (dual protection against UV light and monomer).

9 Physical and chemical properties

AppearanceClear to slightly yellow liquid, or any colour
