3 Composition / information on ingredients
| Chemical substance | CAS number | Concentration range | GHS classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| FEVE fluororesin (Fluoroethylene-Vinyl Ether copolymer, OH-functional) | No single CAS (fluoropolymer) | 25-40% | Non-hazardous substance (polymer) |
| HDI trimer hardener | 28182-81-2 | Component B:70-90% | Resp. Sens. 1 (H334), Skin Sens. 1 (H317) |
| Butyl acetate / xylene | 123-86-4 / 1330-20-7 | 20-40% | Flam. Liq. 3, STOT SE 3 |
4 First-aid measures
Inhalation
Move to fresh air. Isocyanates may cause delayed-onset asthma. Seek medical attention.
Skin contact
Wash with soap and water. PEG 400 enhances removal of isocyanates.
Eye contact
Rinse for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion
Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
Most important symptoms and effects:As with PU systems: isocyanate sensitisation/asthma, solvent-induced dizziness.
Conditions requiring immediate medical attention:Persons sensitized to isocyanates must permanently avoid exposure.
5 Fire-fighting measures
| Suitable extinguishing media | Dry powder / CO₂ / foam / water mist |
|---|---|
| Inappropriate Extinguishing Media | |
| Specific hazards | Combustion: CO, NOx, HF (trace hydrogen fluoride when fluororesin burns) |
| Special protective equipment for firefighters | SCBA + chemical protective suit |
6 Spill release measures
Operator protection:Full PPE + supplied-air respirator
Environmental precautions:Prevent entry into water bodies. Fluoropolymers are environmentally persistent.
Containment and cleaning methods:Absorb with absorbent material. Decontaminate residual isocyanate in liquefied form.
7 Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Spray booth application. Isocyanate safety training.
Storage Conditions
5-30°C. Keep hardener dry. Store separately.
