Fluorocarboncoatings
KF-FEVE500 Fluorocarbon Coating
Kexin KF-FEVE500 fluorocarbon coating uses trifluorochloroethylene-vinyl ether (FEVE) copolymer resin and a highly weather-resistant pigment system. With a C-F bond energy of up to 485 kJ/mol (far exceeding ultraviolet light energy), the coating provides outstanding outdoor weather resistance for over 25 years. It is the preferred top-tier protective finish for landmark buildings and major projects such as architectural aluminum curtain walls, metal roof panels, and large steel structures. The coating also offers comprehensive excellent properties including self-cleaning, stain resistance, resistance to strong acids and alkalis, and salt spray resistance.
ProductsOverview
Fluorocarbon coating is a high-performance professional coating product developed and produced by Kexin New Materials. It is scientifically formulated with high-quality resin and imported pigments and fillers, offering excellent adhesion, durability, and application performance. It is widely used in industrial manufacturing, architectural decoration, automotive transportation, and other fields.
As a source coating factory, Kexin New Materials strictly adheres to the ISO9001 quality management system in the formulation design, raw material procurement, and production filling of fluorocarbon coatings. The products have passed environmental regulations such as ROHS and REACH. Free sample testing and on-site guidance from technical engineers are provided.
Why choose fluorocarbon coating?
CoreAdvantages
Ultra-Strong Weathering Resistance Mechanism of C-F Bonds
The C-F bond energy in fluorocarbon resin is 485 kJ/mol, far higher than the maximum energy of solar ultraviolet light (411 kJ/mol). Ultraviolet light cannot break the C-F chemical bond, fundamentally preventing photodegradation and yellowing of the coating. This is a molecular-level weather resistance advantage that conventional coatings (C-C bond 345 kJ/mol / C-O bond 358 kJ/mol) cannot achieve.
25-Year Outdoor Long-Term Verification
After 25 years of outdoor natural aging tests in the Florida exposure field, the gloss retention rate of the fluorocarbon coating is >80%, with a color difference ΔE.<3。氙灯加速老化5000h(ISO 11341)Color difference ΔE<2,No Chalking、无龟裂、No Blistering。Suitable For机场、体育场、超高层Architectural等Requirements50年design life的地标Item。
Outstanding self-cleaning and anti-fouling performance
The fluorocarbon coating has extremely low surface energy (<23mN/m),water contact angle>95°. Rainwater rolls off the coating surface in spherical droplets, automatically carrying away surface dust and contaminants. After years of use, building aluminum curtain walls and metal roof panels can maintain a clean, like-new appearance, significantly reducing cleaning and maintenance costs.
Comprehensive chemical resistance
Resistant to 98% concentrated sulfuric acid / 37% hydrochloric acid / 50% sodium hydroxide / saturated brine (no change after 30 days). Resistant to wiping with organic solvents such as toluene/xylene/acetone/ethyl acetate (200 wipes without exposing the base). Resistant to industrial acidic gases such as SO₂, H₂S, and NOx. Suitable for extreme corrosive environments such as chemical plant areas and coastal high-salt fog zones.
Dedicated system for metal curtain-wall aluminium panels
Complementing the PVDF fluorocarbon roller coating system, FEVE spray-applied fluorocarbon can be cured at room temperature on-site. It is suitable for complex components such as irregular aluminum panels and steel structures that cannot undergo high-temperature baking in factories. It offers a variety of finishes, including solid colors, metallic sparkle, and pearlescent effects, with the full RAL color range available for any color selection.
Certified to authoritative international standards
Compliant with AAMA 2605 (the highest performance standard of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association) and GB/T 23443-2009 (aluminum veneer for building decoration) for fluorocarbon coating standards. Passed full performance tests including ISO 16474-2 xenon arc aging, ISO 9227 salt spray, and ISO 6270 humidity resistance. Offers a 20-year warranty commitment.

Frequently AskedFAQ
ApplicationProcess
Substrate preparation
The pre-coated epoxy or polyurethane primer and intermediate coat surfaces are fully cured. The surface is clean, free of oil, dust, and condensation. The primer and intermediate coat system must be compatible with the fluorocarbon topcoat. Ambient temperature: 5–40°C, relative humidity<80%。
Sealing with the dedicated primer
Spray one coat of epoxy sealing primer specifically designed for fluorocarbon topcoat. Seal the pores on the intermediate paint surface to ensure uniform film formation of the topcoat. The primer color must coordinate with the topcoat color to avoid showing through. The topcoat can be applied after drying for 4-8 hours.
Precision topcoat application
Apply 2-3 coats using air spraying or HVLP spraying. The first coat should be a mist coat of 20-25μm, with a flash-off time of 20 minutes. The second coat should be a full wet coat of 30-35μm, with a flash-off time of 30 minutes. Total dry film thickness: 70-80μm. For metallic flash paint, a clear topcoat is required to protect the flash effect.
Ambient / heated curing
Cure at 25°C: 24 hours for dry-to-touch / 7 days for full cure. Forced drying at 60°C for 60 minutes is recommended for optimal initial performance. Strictly protect from water, moisture, and contamination during curing. At low temperatures, extend drying and curing time to 72 hours.
Strict quality acceptance
After 7 days of curing, conduct a comprehensive inspection: gloss (60° angle meter), color difference (ΔE).<1.5为合格)、Film Thickness、Adhesion(Pull-off method≥5MPa)、MEK擦拭(200次No substrate show-through)。Appearance100cmVisual无Color Difference橘皮颗粒Pinholes。Provides20年Weather-Resistant质保。
