Inorganic zinc silicatePrimer
KF-IM100 Inorganic Zinc Silicate Primer
KF-IM100 inorganic zinc silicate primer uses ethyl silicate hydrolyzate as binder and ultrafine zinc powder as anticorrosive pigment. The coating has a zinc powder content greater than 85%, providing cathodic protection through sacrificial anode action. Temperature resistance 400 degrees. Widely used as heavy-duty anticorrosive primer for offshore platforms/petrochemical equipment/high-temperature pipelines/storage tanks.
ProductsOverview
Inorganic zinc silicate primer is a heavy-duty anticorrosive coating designed by KeXin New Material according to ISO 12944 standards. It is scientifically formulated with high-quality resin and high-performance anticorrosive pigments, featuring excellent anticorrosion performance and adhesion. Widely used for protective coating in heavy-duty anticorrosion fields such as steel structures, bridges, petrochemicals, and ships.
The product has passed rigorous salt spray testing (>1000h) and adhesion testing (>5MPa), and with a complete base-intermediate-topcoat system, it can provide long-lasting protection for 15-25 years. Kexin provides free coating design solutions and technical support services.
Why choose inorganic zinc silicate primer?
CoreAdvantages
Ethyl silicate inorganic bonding · Zero VOC
Ethyl silicate hydrolyzes and polycondenses to form a Si-O-Si three-dimensional inorganic network. The coating VOC is less than 50g/L, approaching zero VOC. The inorganic binder is UV-resistant, high-temperature resistant up to 400 degrees, and solvent-resistant. The standard primer for offshore platforms and petrochemical high-temperature equipment.
Greater than 85% zinc powder · Strongest cathodic protection
The dry film zinc powder content of the coating is greater than 85%, higher than epoxy zinc-rich. The high zinc powder content ensures good electrical contact between zinc particles and between zinc particles and steel. The sacrificial anode protection effect is stronger and more durable than epoxy zinc-rich. Salt spray greater than 2000h.
Validated on offshore platforms and petrochemical installations
Norwegian North Sea offshore platform inorganic zinc silicate primer verified for over 30 years. Petrochemical high-temperature pipeline 400 degrees inorganic zinc primer. Ship water tanks and ballast tanks inorganic zinc primer. Heavy-duty anticorrosive primer for all steel structures requiring the highest anticorrosion grade.

Frequently AskedQuestions
ApplicationProcess
Surface preparation
Clean substrates thoroughly of oil and rust. Blast steel to Sa2.5. Pre-treat per product spec to keep the substrate clean. Ambient 5-40°C, relative humidity<85%。
Primer / pre-treatment
Select the matching primer or pre-treatment per substrate and system. Mix strictly at the stated ratio and control DFT. Proceed after the primer dries; pre-stripe critical areas.
Main-coat application
Apply the main coat per the process spec, strictly controlling DFT, temperature/humidity and flash-off to keep the film uniform without sagging or pinholes.
Curing process
Bake or air dry at room temperature until fully cured according to product requirements. Maintain a uniform oven temperature (±5°C) and gradually increase the temperature to avoid coating defects. For room temperature curing, ensure adequate ventilation and suitable humidity.
Inspection & acceptance
We test all indicators including film thickness, adhesion, gloss, color difference, and chemical resistance. We conduct comprehensive performance testing according to relevant standards. After all tests pass, we issue a test report and quality assurance certificate, and ship the product in dust-free packaging.
