3 Composition / information on ingredients
| Chemical substance | CAS No. | Concentration range | GHS classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Urethane acrylate / epoxy acrylate / polyester acrylate oligomers. | Mixture (UV-curable resin) | 40-70% | Not hazardous (high-molecular-weight oligomer) |
| Reactive diluent/monomer (multifunctional acrylates such as HDDA/TPGDA/TMPTA). | 13048-33-4 (HDDA); 15625-89-5 (TMPTA), etc. | 20-40% | Skin Irrit. 2 (H315), Eye Irrit. 2 (H319), Skin Sens. 1 (H317) |
| Photoinitiator blend | Multiple variations | 2-5% | Skin Sens. (partial) |
4 First-aid measures
Inhalation
Move to fresh air.
Skin contact
Wash immediately with soap and water. Acrylate monomers may cause skin sensitization.
Eye contact
Rinse for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion
Rinse mouth. Seek medical advice.
Most important symptoms and effects:Skin irritation / sensitization (delayed contact dermatitis).
Conditions requiring immediate medical attention:Symptomatic treatment. Those sensitised should avoid further exposure.
5 Fire-fighting measures
| Suitable extinguishing media | Dry powder / CO2 / foam. UV coatings are usually solvent-free or low-solvent and are not readily flammable. |
|---|---|
| Unsuitable extinguishing media | |
| Specific hazards | |
| Special protective equipment for firefighters |

7 Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Handle away from UV/daylight. Take measures against UV radiation: shield the work area from UV light. Avoid skin contact with uncured coating (acrylate sensitization). No eating or drinking in the workplace.
Storage Conditions
Store protected from light (to prevent unintended polymerization). <30°C. Shelf life 6-12 months. Periodically check for any rise in viscosity (a sign of polymerization).
8 Exposure controls / personal protection
| substance | PC-TWA | PC-STEL | Standard |
|---|
Engineering controls
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
| Respiratory system | Usually not required (solvent-free) — wear P2 when spraying UV coatings |
|---|---|
| Hand protection | Nitrile gloves (multilayer + frequent change, as monomers can permeate the glove). |
| Eye protection | UV protection face shield + safety goggles |
| Skin and body | Long-sleeved protective suit. Cover all skin (dual protection against UV light and monomer). |
9 Physical and chemical properties
| Appearance | Clear to slightly yellow liquid, or any colour |
|---|---|
| Flash Point | >100°C (most UV coatings are solvent-free) |
| Relative Density | 1.0-1.2 |
| Viscosity | Wide range: 50-5,000 mPa·s (product dependent) |
| Solids content | >95% (solvent-free type) |
| VOC content | <5% (very low or no VOC) |
10 Stability and reactivity
| Reactivity | UV/visible-light initiated polymerization——store protected from light! |
|---|---|
| Chemical stability | |
| Possibility of hazardous reactions | |
| Conditions to avoid | UVlight, sunlight, high temperature. |
| Incompatible materials | Strong oxidizers. |
| Hazardous decomposition products |
