TDS Technical Data Sheet – Silicone High Temperature Resistant Paint KF-SR800

Technical Data Sheet · Silicone high-temperature paint · KF-SR800

Product code:KF-SR800 Product series: Silicone heat-resistant coatings Version: 1.0 Date of issue: 2026-11-01

1. Product Description

KF-SR800 silicone high-temperature-resistant paint uses methylphenyl silicone resin as the binder, blended with heat-resistant pigments (aluminum powder, ceramic pigment, mica powder, etc.), and can withstand 200-600°C for the long term (depending on grade and color). The Si-O-Si main-chain bond energy of the silicone resin reaches 452 kJ/mol, far higher than the C-C bond (347 kJ/mol), so it resists chain breakage and degradation at high temperature. At high temperature the coating undergoes 'secondary curing': the organic groups are oxidized and volatilized, and the remaining SiO₂ backbone forms a firm ceramized bonding layer with the substrate. It is widely used for anti-corrosion and color marking of industrial high-temperature equipment and piping. When selecting a heat-resistant paint, besides the temperature grade one must also consider thermal cycling, thermal shock, chemical atmosphere and other service conditions.

2. Typical Applications

External walls of high-temperature piping / reactors / heat exchangers at petrochemical and refinery plants; boiler / steam-pipe / chimney exteriors at power plants; automobile / motorcycle exhaust pipes and silencers; internal and external walls of industrial ovens, kilns and incinerators; district-heating pipes and steam networks.

4. Application Guide

Surface preparation

Thoroughly clean the substrate surface to remove oil and rust. Abrasive-blast steel to Sa2.5 (ISO 8501-1) with 40-75μm surface profile. Concrete substrate moisture content must be below 6%, grind to remove laitance. For old coatings, remove loose areas and roughen the surface.

Mixing / compounding

According to the mix ratio indicated on the product label, add the hardener (component B) slowly to the base (component A) and mechanically stir for 3-5 minutes until uniform. Let stand to mature for 10-15 minutes before use. Use up within the specified pot life after mixing.

Application method

Recommended air spray (gun orifice 1.5-2.0 mm, pressure 0.4-0.6 MPa) or airless spray (nozzle 0.38-0.53 mm, pressure 15-25 MPa). Small areas may be brushed or rolled. Keep each coat dry film thickness within the specified range.

Curing conditions

Self-cures at ambient temperature (23°C) provided relative humidity meets requirements. Do not apply under low temperature (<5°C) or high humidity (>85%). Conduct performance testing only after full cure.
