I. Pre-construction Preparation — Substrate Inspection and Treatment

1Substrate Inspection and Handling Standards

Handling Standards:ISO 8501-1 Sa2.5 grade (very thorough blast cleaning)

Roughness requirements:Rz 40-75μm(ISO 8503-1)

Cleanliness requirements:Surface cleanliness grade 2 after blasting (ISO 8502-3), free of oil and dust

Application timing:Apply the primer within 4 hours after sandblasting to prevent rust reoccurrence.

Edge treatment:Grind free edges to a rounded corner with R≥2mm.

Weld treatment:Remove weld slag and spatter from welds; apply stripe coat to welds

2Paint preparation and mixing

Mixing Method:Use an electric stirrer at 300-500 rpm, stir at low speed for 3-5 minutes until uniform.

Mixing ratio:Accurately weigh according to the mixing ratio indicated on the product label

Curing:After mixing, let it stand for 15-30 minutes (23°C) before use

Service life:Pot life after mixing is 4-8 hours (23°C); do not use beyond this period.

3Confirmation of environmental conditions

Application temperature:5-40°C (substrate temperature ≥ dew point +3°C)

Relative humidity:Relative humidity ≤85%

Ventilation requirements:密闭空间强制通风

Weather requirements:Outdoor application should avoid rain/snow/strong winds/direct sunlight

II. Application Process — Selection of Coating Method

3. Overcoat Interval and Curing Maintenance

Minimum overcoating interval:Recoatable after reaching surface dry (approximately 4-6 hours at 23°C)

Maximum overcoating interval:If exceeding 7 days, the surface must be roughened (low-pressure sanding at 0.2-0.3 MPa, using non-metallic abrasives).

⚠ Risk of overcoating beyond the time limit:If the maximum recoating interval is exceeded, interlayer adhesion will significantly decrease. The surface must be sweep-blasted (low pressure 0.2-0.3MPa, non-metallic abrasive) to create mechanical anchoring roughness; otherwise, coating delamination may occur.

Curing Conditions:Self-cures at 23°C, fully cures in 7 days. Low temperatures (<5°C) require a low-temperature curing agent.

IV. Safety and Environmental Requirements
PPE requirements: Respirator (A2P2 filter cartridge) + goggles + nitrile gloves + anti-static workwear + safety shoes
No Open Flames, Welding, Cutting, or Other Spark-Producing Operations
Use explosion-proof electrical equipment in the construction area
Dispose of waste paint and containers according to HW12 category of the National Hazardous Waste List
