Automotive refinish coating system series · complete application process flow

Product No.: AT-600 Reference standards: GB/T 13492 | ISO 28199 | OEM coating specifications Version: V2.0 Date: 2026-06-21
I. Pre-application preparation — Substrate inspection and treatment

1Substrate inspection and preparation standard

Preparation standard:Sand down to bare metal, or until the original coating is sound

Roughness requirement:per product requirements

Cleanliness requirement:Thoroughly degrease with a degreaser, then remove dust with a tack cloth

Body filler application:Apply body filler to damaged areas, then sand smooth after drying

Primer application:Spray primer onto bare-metal areas

2Paint preparation and mixing

Mixing method:Stir thoroughly until uniform

Mixing ratio:Follow the mixing ratio indicated on the product label (typically 2:1 or 4:1)

Pot life:Pot life after mixing is about 1-2 hours (20°C); do not use beyond this period

Filtration:The topcoat and clear coat must be filtered through a 190-250 mesh strainer

3Environmental condition check

Application temperature:15-30 °C (ideally 20-25 °C)

Relative humidity:Relative humidity 40-70%

booth:Apply inside a spray booth, air velocity 0.3-0.5 m/s

II. Application procedure — Selection of coating method
Application methodProcess parametersApplicable scenarios
gravity feed spray gun Nozzle 1.3-1.4 mm (topcoat), 1.4-1.5 mm (clearcoat), pressure 0.2-0.3 MPa Automotive refinish topcoat / clear coat
Primer spray gun Nozzle 1.6-1.8 mm, pressure 0.25-0.35 MPa Primer / intermediate coat
4. Safety and environmental requirements
⚠ PPE requirements: gas mask (A2P2) + safety goggles + nitrile gloves + anti-static workwear
⚠ The paint baking booth must have an explosion-proof design
⚠ strictly prohibit spark-producing work inside the baking booth
⚠ Dispose of leftover coating and thinner as hazardous waste
5. Quality inspection and acceptance criteria
